Demonstrating Action through Inventions - Year 4

For the conclusion of unit 2 “Where we Are in Place and Time”, the ultimate line of inquiry was “How present-day knowledge could impact the future”.

Year 4 students were asked to reflect upon this and using their knowledge of how inventions from past civilisations have had an impact on our world they were challenged to create and build an invention that would have an impact on their future.

Using recyclable materials to create their inventions Year 4 demonstrated action by entering into the world of science, engineering, design and technology to conjure up truly incredible inventions ranging from sensors at road crossings for the blind, recyclable musical instruments, teleports, flying and water vehicles, ejectable airplane cabins with giant parachutes for emergency landings and a clothes wearing machine to name but a few! 

Imagine what a positive difference all of these inventions can have on people’s lives today.
