EtonHouse International School has a big staff number with teachers from all over the world. We are incredibly proud of our diversity and even though sometimes this comes with some cultural differences we are proud of our team and the family atmosphere we have created. This has become even more apparent during the Covid-19 pandemic which has meant that we have had to find a new way of working and cooperating. Working from different countries and multiple time zones and through online meetings and regular communication, it has allowed our staff to provide an excellent online programme for our students.
We have eagerly been awaiting news that we can open school again and the majority of our teachers have been ready and waiting in Dongguan. Last week, all schools in Guangdong province received the news that from May 11th they could begin to re-open. We are proud to say at the present time that we have more than 97% of our teachers here in Dongguan and ready to begin face-to-face classes again. Of the three teachers that are not here, there are two in Hong Kong and one in the Philippines and ready to cross the border as soon as it opens.
Even though the pandemic is spreading across the globe, and coming back to China was a difficult decision to make at the time, our teachers showed their dedication and commitment as educators and their trust of the school by coming back to China early and being ready and prepared for school. Here are some of their experiences.
