In recognition that the process of both learning from the knowledge of others and demonstrating one’s own understanding and perspective of what one has learned is an integral component of our student’s educational journey, we continue to celebrate our student’s voices through our dynamic PYP end of unit exhibitions.
Today, our Year 3 to Year 6 students enthusiastically presented their understanding of the transdisciplinary theme of ‘Sharing the Planet’. Having explored a wide variety of thought-provoking subject matter from the role of living things in the ecosystem to the adaptation and evolution of animals in a constantly changing world and the controversial issues surrounding equal opportunities and human rights, it was evident that our students really enjoyed sharing their valuable discoveries.
The students used their agency to select the material from their unit that they wished to showcase and the members in our school community enthusiastically visited classes to learn from the informative displays, play scripts, posters, videos and interactive games that our children had created.
Through these on-going end of unit celebrations, we continue to encourage our students to take the time to recognize their noteworthy achievements as lifelong learners.
